G2X displays 1.45.03 on the dash but when I create a video with TrackVision, the overlay shows a lap time of 1.44.97. How do I get them to match?

OK, so you are sure you set S/F on the GTX for this session, right?

What lap times do you see in DatalinkII? [right click the session name tab to see all the pals for that session]
TrackVision gets its lap time data from DatalinkII, so whatever lap times you see in DLII will be what you see in TrackVision.

There's a possibility that you've placed the S/F on DatalinkII's GPS track map in a different place than you had it set on the G2X. If you do this, DatalinkII will export the data using your new GPS map S/F position.

Here's how to check:
- Open your session file in DatalinkII
- autoscale to show the entire session
- Display your track map
- Click on the Lap Markers channel button [buttons at the top of the screen]. You'll see small vertical marks on the bottom of the graph window. These are the S/F points the G2X recorded.
- Drag the graph cursor to the first of these lap markers.
- Now, the X on your track map should be right over the point your set as the map S/F line. If its not, then reset your map S/F to the new position [where the X is now].
- Your GPS map S/F is now aligned with your G2X S/F and all lap times should reflect that.

Its a bit tricky, I know. The design idea is that you only need to create a track map once for each track, and the S/F and sectors on your saved track map will be used every time you are processing data from that track.
If you set S/F on the logger to a different position, then the lap times will not match perfectly.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I set the S/F using the dash. When I right click on the session tab, it shows 1.45.04 for the lap. That doesn't match what was displayed on the dash either but it's only .01 off.

I guess I'm still not clear on whether I have to set the S/F in the Datalink software if I set it using the dash. I thought I read that I do have to set S/F in the software regardless if I set it using the dash. That's what I've been doing. I zoom way in on the graph and it sure looks like I get it exactly on the S/F mark to me.

One other thing that may or may not be a factor is the lap in question was listed as unverified in the Datalink software. I made 9 laps in that session. The first four were verified and the last five were unverified. Still trying to figure out what that means. So, I used my best verified lap to set the S/F in the software since the other laps had no markers. I hope I'm explaining it correctly.

Hmmmm.......the easiest way might be for you to send me your .ddf file so I can take a look in DatalinkII. Email support@TrackVision.net
