Unless you have multiple loggers like robyr1, then you'd have to adjust the widget everytime you switched logger.
(or make duplicates of the properties file)

Or just duplicate the definition of the speedometer widget in the dashboard file. We decided to modify data values in only one place - the dashboard. Take a look at the SampleDashboard properties file. MPH and KPH gauges are both defined. TV selects which to render based on the presence of the corresponding data field in logger data.

So, in Robyr1's case, duplicate the speedometer widget and assign it to another logger variable, e.g. analog_channel01. Then assign the speed in meters per second to that variable in the logger properties file. I've added speed_mps and speed_fps to TV 2.1 codebase to make this clearer.

That should help Smile

hi uthaug! your application it's very cool! it was right what i was looking for making smoother the data on TV Very Happy
i saw by the link that you support also the Danas export file, i have the minilap R with the new DAE module, wich allow to sample additional data like rpm, throttle and speed...
now the question is, is i export the data from the danas, can i interpolate them to 25hz? i have also another question, the danas at the moment record data with 5hz update rate for additional sensor, but it is still with 1hz gps data, so i have the 5 records with the same gps data with 5hz sampling... interpolating these kind of data will make "problems"?

bye!

We are now leaning toward using racechronos to record the data with obd2 with a symbian phone using the obdkey and a Qstarz BT-Q818EX (only 5hz).

After reading all this, apparently 5hz is much better visually than 1hz but 20hz is only a bit better than 5hz visually??? Our end product is video so I'm intereested in Pinto and/or Pandora to get the smoothnes of the needles in the overlay.

Please correct me if I'm wrong...the new racechronos has a trackvision export file so I do not need pandora?

The new pinto accepts 5hz and interpolates it to 20hz?

can this pinto file go in to trackvision or must go through something else before trackvision?

FINAL part...we want to be able to import the data in to Danas analysis software...is Pandora needed for this?

thanks...mr

If Racechronos exports directly to a Trackvision file, then no need for Pandora.

Pinto reads a 1 hz or 5 hz Trackvision file and interpolates it to a new 25 hz file.
The 25 hz file can be used directly in Trackvision.

The problem is that the Trackvision file is different between each type of data logger and Pinto is hard-coded to only accept Pandora generated Trackvision files.

It's hard to make Pinto accept multiple loggers at once, but it's (relatively) easier to make a special version of Pinto for one particular logger. In this case Racechronos.

To make a special Pinto for you, I need a complete sample of logged data.
By "complete" I mean containing all the data you log.

If you are interested in embeding you intepolation into Pandora, I can get the project started.

I would like to have to get it all in one place as well.
Let me know.

Try this: http://www.runes-mc.dk/pinto/pinto_for_RaceChrono.exe

Note, that due to a limitation (in my programming) it only works with the format in the "markPROC.csv" file you sent me.
The file "mark.csv" is a little different in that it lacks some columns of data and this version of Pinto can't handle both formats.

Let me know how it works out Smile

NICE!!! It works very well with the output files from RCNormalize v1 and v1.3...smoothes everything out since this is the format of the test file I sent you. It does not work with a regular RC export but I run them all through RCN anyway...so for me..PERFECT!!!...Thanks!!!...I owe you!

Server error when trying to send PM.
I'll try to post here:

Hi Morgan

Try this updated version http://www.runes-mc.dk/pinto/pinto_for_RaceChrono.exe
(same link as before, but it's an updated file)

You pretty much guessed the problem. Smile
The extra column from RCn 1.35 is the cause.

Pinto can only handle a fixed number of columns.

regards

Rune
